Head of School
Appointed Head of School in 2019, Leila Shatara served in leadership positions in public and Islamic schools for 28 years. She currently serves as President of the Council of Islamic Schools in North America. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University. She has worked with Islamic schools through their accreditation attainment and serves on accreditation teams with COGNIA.
Ms. Shatara has presented at the ISNA Education forum for 8 years on topics ranging from effective leadership and data-driven decision making to teacher evaluations and spiritual development. She is also a published researcher and has presented at the University Council for Educational Administration Conference (UCEA), the American Educational Research Association Conference and the Florida Educational Research Association (FERA).
