Community Service

Community Service MLK 2015The NUI Community Service Club (CSC) provides opportunities for students in grades eight to twelve to serve the school, the Muslim community, and the community at large.  The club consists of ten committees, each headed by student chairs and adult supervisors.  Each committee is responsible for planning activities such as food drives, fundraising events, recycling, etc. The students of the NUI Community Service Club have been recognized by The County of Middlesex Board of Chosen Freeholders for it’s consistent support of their annual food drive for the past six years!

  • Box Tops: Help to promote the Box Tops program in the school and reach a particular Box Tops fundraising goal
  • Brick: Organize fundraising activities to donate at least one “brick” ($1000) towards the NUI school building
  • Campbell’s Labels: Help to promote the Campbell’s labels program in the school and reach a particular Campbell’s Labels collection goal
  • Food Drive: Organize school-wide food drives to help the needy in the community
  • Homefront: Provide monthly bagged lunches and organize other activities in support of the Homefront Homeless Shelter in Lawrenceville, NJ
  • ISCJ Community Support: Organize projects to aid senior citizens and other groups within the ISCJ community
  • Masjid/School Maintenance : Organize masjid cleanups and other activities to help maintain and beautify NUI and the ISCJ
  • Research Group: Research possible community service projects for the NUI CSC School Support Organize after school sales to raise funds to help sponsor school activities such as the High School Breakfast
  • Terracycle: Help to promote the Terracycle program in the school to encourage recycling
